At its heart, work involving the arts and health is about shaping and delivering high-quality clinical care that is focussed on the needs of patients, service users and service providers as individuals and groups. The Arts Council (UK) Prospectus for Arts and Health (2014) states that: it is important to note that the sharing of artistic activity has a valuable part to play in our sense of wellbeing. This EOI is therefore aimed at a sustained interaction and engagement with the arts for the continued benefit of patients and staff beyond installation in to a continued engagement through included educational packages that reference the major graphic vinyl works. This proposal recognises the significant positive mental and physical health effects (and economic benefits) or well-chosen and well-designed art for health facilities.
As an environmental educator, photographer and researcher in the fields of the environmental humanities and eco-psychology I have a keen interest in the relationships held between individuals, their sense of place, and the effects on individual and group wellbeing. As an active researcher in the field of arts/mental health I feel my skills, as shown through photography, will be of great benefit and insight in to the production of wall treatments.
